Background:
Kinellar School is situated in the village of Blackburn on the Fintray Road. Blackburn is off the A96, a few kilometres form Kintore. Most of the children in the school come from the village but there are some who come from the surrounding countryside. The school was built in 1928, but input from the council has improved the accommodation to make the building a welcoming place for both the children and the staff. There is also plenty of room in the school grounds to play football, netball and a whole variety of playground games. .
