Serves town of Oldmeldrum and surrounding district; buildings date from 19th century, with numerous additions; accomodation now includes well-equipped classrooms, large gym, stage, nursery, new dining room and kitchen, and computer suite; number of playing areas and a playing field. Community education facilities include a room for playgroup and a GP room. Sports include football, netball and cross-country; other out-of-school activities run by community education staff in new Meldrum Academy. Active parent-teacher association, which organises invaluable fundraising; school board also supportive. School supports a charity each year, with the pupils encouraged to select a cause that helps children.
