Background:
Meiklemill School opened in October 1977 and was later extended in 1981. There are four main teaching areas and quiet activities can be carried out in either of the two rooms designed for that purpose. These are to be found in each of the smaller areas. For art and practical work, the school has four wet areas ? one in each section of the school. For outdoor activities that require an enclosed space, school has two patio areas. Sand and water play or science experiments can be carried out there. Pupils have had the opportunity to participate in football, netball, chess, recorder playing and hockey coaching. The school aims to create a friendly, caring and welcoming atmosphere. .
